History of the New hotel du Commerce
Originally, the building was used as a post office. We are talking about a time when cars had no engine and were pulled by horses. The hotel has existed for almost a century. It is now managed by the fifth generation of the Lonjon and Fradet family. The Hotel was created at the time of the first tourist “boom” that Castellane knew at the beginning of the 20th century. It was the time of the first motor vehicles, a time when the road of the gorges did not exist yet.
Renovation of the New Hotel du Commerce
After almost a century of existence, the hotel needed a little rejuvenation. We took the opportunity to make a total renovation and install real modern equipment. This is how the establishment acquired its name of “New” hotel du Commerce, combining the charm of the old and modern comfort. It combines two buildings, the old and the new.

The bar and restaurant of the Nouvel Hotel du Commerce have been renovated after nine years of closure. They are open from March to November, only in the evening, from 7pm to 9pm. The service in room is always possible but it is also very pleasant to eat in terrace at feet of the Roc de Castellane.

The establishment also offers services dedicated to groups and professionals. Indeed, in addition to the rooms, the bar and the restaurant, a reception room can also be made available. This room, which can accommodate all types of events, has a capacity of twenty people.
