The New hotel du Commerce in Castellane is a place that does not lack charm. It is located just next to the Post Office, on the square of Castellane, you can’t miss it! Ranked number 1 by TripAdvisor on Castellane, it also benefits from the Quality Tourism label. The New Hotel du Commerce welcomes you from March to November. It is the only three star hotel<\/a><\/strong> in the city.<\/p>\n

History of the New hotel du Commerce<\/h2>\n

Originally, the building was used as a post office. We are talking about a time when cars had no engine and were pulled by horses. The hotel has existed for almost a century. It is now managed by the fifth generation of the Lonjon and Fradet family. The Hotel was created at the time of the first tourist “boom” that Castellane knew at the beginning of the 20th century. It was the time of the first motor vehicles, a time when the road of the gorges did not exist yet.<\/p>\n

Renovation of the New Hotel du Commerce<\/h2>\n

After almost a century of existence, the hotel needed a little rejuvenation. We took the opportunity to make a total renovation and install real modern equipment. This is how the establishment acquired its name of “New” hotel du Commerce, combining the charm of the old and modern comfort. It combines two buildings, the old and the new.<\/p>\n

The rooms of the New Hotel du Commerce<\/h2>\n

There are 31 rooms that can accommodate 77 people, they are declined in the following way;<\/p>\n

Standard double rooms of the New Hotel du Commerce<\/h3>\n

They are equipped with a double bed and a private bathroom with separate toilet. All the services offered by establishments of this rank are also included. A courtesy tray, a desk and a safe. The foreign customers are not left out. Indeed, each room is equipped with a flat screen TV with a choice of 20 channels in different languages.<\/p>\n

Double standard twin rooms<\/h3>\n

Rooms with the same comfort but equipped with two single beds<\/p>\n

Triple standard room<\/h3>\n

A suite of 45 square meters! The double bed of 180 x 200 can also be divided into two. There is also a convertible sofa that can accommodate two more people.<\/p>\n

The breakfast (always in supplement) consists of three buffets. Sweet, salty and gluten free. Hot and cold drinks. A breakfast thought to harmonize with the taste and culture of each.<\/p>\n

Bar and restaurant of the hotel<\/h2>\n

The bar and restaurant of the Nouvel Hotel du Commerce have been renovated after nine years of closure. They are open from March to November, only in the evening, from 7pm to 9pm. The service in room is always possible but it is also very pleasant to eat in terrace at feet of the Roc de Castellane<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Additional services of the New hotel du Commerce<\/h2>\n

The establishment also offers services dedicated to groups and professionals. Indeed, in addition to the rooms, the bar and the restaurant, a reception room can also be made available. This room, which can accommodate all types of events, has a capacity of twenty people.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the New Hotel du Commerce has a heated swimming pool from the end of May to mid-September, a unique service in the center of Castellane.<\/p>\n

Finally, the establishment offers a free bicycle garage for cyclists and a closed parking lot for motorists.<\/p>\n
